That's right, for the first time in four years, you are able to shop our store from your mobile device! And we aren't done yet! In the coming months, we will attempt to address our number one customer complaint; "I can't order very much from your web store. I know you have the product I need, why isn't it online?" Customer service has been the bedrock on which Black Bag Resources was built, but often our customers want the convenience of a quick online transaction.  Some of the attendees from the last Diversity Shoot-everyone had a great time! Simon Says Train is hosting “The 2nd is for Everyone: Diversity Shoot” at Gun For Hire range in Woodland Park NJ on June 25 2015 at 6:30pm. This event is to raise awareness of the non-stereotypical firearms enthusiast to the difference that they can make on New Jersey's political landscape. This event is open to people from all walks of life that believe the 2nd Amendment is a civil right that all law abiding citizens should have the right to exercise. As a group firearms enthusiast are portrayed by the media as older white men that hate everyone that doesn't look like them or paranoid extremist that are praying for the collapse of society, this can't be further from the truth. Gun owners are a diverse group of friendly, honest people but many don't get involved in politics. That is the purpose of this shoot, to show how easily you can make a difference with a little effort. I will be there with Sean Fisher from Black Bag Resources, LLC to discuss New Jersey's gun laws, hand out literature and answer question about joining pro-Second Amendment groups like the National Rifle Association, Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs, and New Jersey 2nd Amendment Society. I am an NRA recruiter, if you would like to join the NRA or renew your current NRA membership you will be able to do so at the event and get a free NRA hat as a thank you gift for joining. We will also have handouts and gifts from our sponsors New Jersey Concealment Furniture, Black Bag Resources, and Gun For Hire. The range charges $25 an hour and we will have the 50 yard indoor range to ourselves. Gun For Hire has over 200 guns that you can rent, safety equipment and targets you can purchase or you can bring your own. There will be NRA certified instructors and Range safety officers to insure a safe and fun time can be enjoyed by everyone. Rental guns and ammo are an additional fee.  You've been asking for quite some time now, and they are finally here! Black Bag Resources 3" x 3" embroidered patches with hook backing, so you can put them on your jackets, packs, and uniforms. They also include the loop potion, so you can sew it on to anything else you want to put your BBR patch on. These are available for immediate order from our web store where you'll get 2 patches for $10. We are also offering a patch exchange for unit or team patches. It's been a busy couple of months here at BBR. I'll apologize now for not keeping up with the blog, but if you follow us on Facebook, you know we've opened a bunch of new lines with some pretty exciting brands. Hexmag has been a huge hit as well as some of the very handy tools from Real Avid. If you've been more closely involved, we may have done some private firearms lessons with you, helped you build your dream AR, or spent some time optimizing your Bug Out Bag. But what's next? I've tried doing this a few different ways, but haven't liked any until now- you'll notice a new page on the tabs above. Yes, we finally are putting together a calendar so you can see what's scheduled with BBR. It's subject to change, but at least it gives you an idea of what we have scheduled. As I'm writing this post, I'm also getting the calendar started, so check back often. Yes, I know there isn't much listed yet. Again, check back often.  ION 2014 was an absolute blast! I saw lots of great friends and spent three days running the Black Bag Resources booth. The best part was helping folks set up their gear. On several occasions, I got the opportunity to lend my expertise and help customers build a vest or chest rig. I also helped lots of nice folks adjust, modify, or add to their existing gear. Overall feedback was great, and hopefully I hear back from a bunch of you about your future needs. To everyone who stopped by the booth to make a purchase or just to chat, I thank you. The 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban (AWB) sucked. It limited magazine capacity, banned popular firearms, and was an all around lousy piece of legislation that had no effect on reducing crime. (That was supposedly its purpose, after all.) Thankfully, that nightmare ended for most Americans when the ban sunsetted in 2004. ...Unless you live in New Jersey... Our NJ friends know that there was a NJ AWB in effect prior to the federal AWB, and it has no sunset clause. NJ residents are still arbitrarily limited to 15 round magazines. (I can only imagine the writers of the bill assumed that cutting the standard AR15 30 round magazine in half would result in a crime free utopia. It didn't. NJ has some of the highest violent crime rates in the country, but I digress.) It's only in the last few years that 15 round magazines have become commercially available, and many of those are "permanently modified" full capacity mags- which cost far more than their unmodified counterparts.  Basic layout: Front and Back. Most recently, NJ politicians are trying to expand the ban and further reduce magazine capacities to just 10 rounds. (It is my opinion that we should be repealing the entire NJ AWB, NOT expanding it.) Under the guise of "Public Safety" and hiding behind the Newtown tragedy, these politicians are again making arbitrary decisions that will turn NJ gun owners, who have already jumped through hoops to stay within this insane law, into overnight felons with the stroke of a pen. To celebrate the stupidity (or malice) of these elected officials, as well as our business's escape to PA, Black Bag Resources is releasing the "FUNJ" Mag Limits shirt. Emblazoned with the Garden State Parkway colors, the artwork pokes fun at the arbitrary and useless magazine capacity limits.  Large back detail and small front detail. The art on the back depicts a postcard style Garden State with an AR15 magazine being cut in half with a pair of scissors and the text "Greetings from New Jersey, Where the rules are made up... ...And your rights don't matter!" The small front art is a parody of the Garden State Parkway logo with another halved magazine and the text, "New Jersey, where the rules are made up and your rights don't matter."  People often ask me to sell them "survival kits." I'm not a fan of the idea. Your survival requirements are far too personal and specific for a prefabricated kit. Invariably, something gets missed or left out, or, worse yet, the company selling the kit loads it with the cheapest junk they can get in an effort to maximize profits. It is my philosophy that you have to build your kit yourself. I can guide you, help you figure out your needs, but I'd be doing a disservice if I tried to do it for you. You need to have 100% confidence in every item in your kit. It isn't what you buy, it's what you learn, know, and do. There is no substitute. But you guys want packages, and as the saying goes - the customer is always right. Here's my plan: I'm going to start assembling product bundles. I'll put together packages of items that make sense and function well together, quality items I use myself, at a discounted price. These bundles will save you a few bucks, meet customer demand, and coincide with my philosophy that you have to build your kit yourself. Here's the first of these combos: Dave asked for a small bundle to cover fire and water. Obviously, I want you to add to this, but here's a bundle to get you started. (There's two of these combos ready to ship.) Combo includes: H2O Pouch, MOLLE compatible, insulated, with a small outer pocket to hold everything together. Nalgene Bottle, 32 oz, Glow-in-the-dark, wide mouth bottle can be used to protect the other items in the combo. Light My Fire Spork, bright orange so it doesn't get lost, this is my favorite camp chow utensil. Safe-Light PALight Survival flashlight, white LED, the best small light in an emergency. Check out the article here. Stainless Steel Cup, nests with the bottle and can be used to boil water. Magnesium Fire Starter, reliable fire starting capability. Paracord Bracelet, convenient multi use cordage, can be disassembled to make a sling or fire bow/drill. BBR Bandana, has a million uses, including pre-filter for your water. Start with Tincture of Iodine, available at your local pharmacy, which can be used to treat wounds and treat (decontaminate) water the same way Iodine tabs would. A small "first aide" kit with some adhesive bandages and ointment is always handy. A small sample or travel sized bottle of hand sanitizer has multiple purposes. You can wrap some duck tape around the bottle or add a flat pack. A piece of tin foil can be used as a wind screen or a lid for the steel cup. A heavy duty zip seal bag can be used to catch or carry additional water and takes up very little space when empty. Make some fire starters from dryer lint or cotton balls and petroleum jelly. Finally, a piece of hacksaw blade as explained here. And there's no reason to stop there. As I've stated earlier, you know best what you need. You might even add this combo to a larger kit.
