Do I have your attention now? Are you confused? If you're new to firearms (or "the discussion on firearms") in the last 15 years, I don't blame you. I find most people have a pretty short memory, so let me share mine. In 1994, US President Bill Clinton passed the "Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Act" more commonly known at the time (and more accurately described) as the "Federal Assault Weapons Ban" authored by California Senator Dianne Feinstein. Very similar to New Jersey's firearms restrictions passed a few years prior, the FAWB prohibited the manufacture, sale, or possession of a long list of specifically named firearms by civilians. It also codified limitations on certain features as well as magazine capacities, as part of the larger "Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act" (also known as the Biden Crime Law)- drafted for the US Senate by Delaware Senator Joe Biden.
